New Photos of The Switch 2 GCC

With the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience conventions happening in Paris and New York, we’ve got a first look at the Switch 2 GameCube controller earlier today. Thanks to people posting pictures on social media and sharing their experience, we’ve got a bit more information on the thing.

Thanks to Makenshi for allowing me to use his pictures!

So here’s a few pictures from the convention in Paris. We’ve got confirmation that the dimensions are the same, and it seems that some of the internals have been modified – not surprising since they added extra buttons on top, but we’ll have to wait until we can open it up. This also means that we get functional analog triggers which is really cool.

The controller seems to be retained by a cable screwed onto the back shell as some kind of anti-theft measure.

Also we get an exclusive shot of the back of the controller, but unfortunately there’s a bar code sticker right on top of the stamp which is really unfortunate. Guess we’ll have to wait a bit more to see what’s hiding under there. It seems like they’re using the same tripoint screws as the original controllers though.

Huge thanks to Makenshi for those pictures once again, and Linyoa for being the middleperson since I don’t use Twitter anymore.

And with that I can now update the prototypes section of this resource. We’re getting there!
